Report of Alumna Meet

The IIS Economics Society of IIS (Deemed to be university) organized an insightful and interactive session on the topic “Leveraging Comparative Advantage: Charting a Career Path in Economics” featuring Ms. Apeksha Sharma, an accomplished graduate who has completed both her UG and PG from IIS (Deemed to be University) and successfully cleared the prestigious RBI Grade B examination. Session began with Ms. Avani Sharma, president of The IISU Economics Society, warmly welcoming her and presenting her with a token of appreciation. The session was conducted on 25th September, 2024 in the A.V. Hall from 10.30 onwards and more than 60 students attended the session.
In this session, Ms. Apeksha Sharma shared valuable insights into the exam process, her preparation strategies, and expert advice on how to approach and clear the RBI Grade B exam. This was a fantastic opportunity for students aspiring to pursue a career in banking and excel in competitive examinations. The session delved in her process of preparation and how she managed to crack her exam with patience, hard work and consistency. To make the session interactive, students were free to ask questions that pop up in their mind which ultimately helps to broaden the understanding of the students.
Furthermore, she shared an incident with students about how one conversation with a teacher motivated her to give her best shot at the exam. She emphasized that motivation is not just a key and one should also be disciplined and consistent towards their goal. She candidly shared her personal experience, highlighting the challenges faced by her during the course of preparation and also talked about the times when she didn’t feel like studying. During the course of preparation, she utilized plenty of resources that are available on the internet and emphasized on the use of YouTube and Google.
The IISU Economics Society put in dedicated efforts to ensure that the event ran smoothly. From arranging the venue to promoting the event and managing registrations, each team member contributed significantly to its success.
The alumna interaction session organized by the Economics Society of IIS (deemed to be university) was an astounding success. The session not only provided students with valuable insights but also inspired them to remain determined in the face of challenges. The Economics Department is grateful to Ms. Apeksha Sharma for her time and valuable contributions.
