The Department of Economics organised a visit to Securities and Exchange Board of India, Jaipur regional office on 29 January 2019 for the students of Economics Honors (semester II and IV). The lecture was delivered by the Assistant General Manager, Mr. Siddharth Bechhlwal. He gave an introduction about the various regulatory bodies for the banking sector, stock market and insurance sector. Then he explained the role and functions of SEBI for efficient functioning of the stock market. He also gave insight about the different markets like BSE, NSE, NCDEX, MCX, etc. and explained the concept of Demat account which  can be opened free of charge without any AMC (Annual Maintenance Cost). The students were also acquainted with the concepts of commodity derivatives, futures and options. The students were also made aware about the regulations of SEBI in prevention, reduction and elimination of fraud practices in the stock market. The session ended with an interactive question answer round. The visit thus proved to be very knowledgeable for the students.
