Interactive Session for Students of Department

 

A Report

 

An interactive session was organized by the Department of Economics for all the Under Graduate and Post Graduate students on August 6, 2015. The session aimed at informal introduction of students of the department, which was done through various fun-academic activities. These activities were planned and coordinated by the 2nd and 3rd year students for 1st year students.

The session began with a small introduction of the students followed by the activities which included games like Pictionary, Extempore and No Negatives. This was followed by a group discussion on various contemporary economic issues like poverty, demography and environmental issues vis-à-vis economic development. The session ended with the queries from freshers about the subject, syllabus, how to score well, etc.

The session played a big role in breaking the ice between juniors and seniors which proved to be extremely meaningful. Students gave a very positive response after the activity and found it extremely useful in getting their immediate doubts regarding curriculum, examinations, hostel,… were cleared by the discussions held during the session.
