The IIS Economics Society of IIS (Deemed to be) university organised its first inter college event ‘Econopoly’ on 16th February 2023 in the Ojas Hall for the university's annual cultural fest ‘COSMOS’ 2022-23.

Econopoly was the life size representation of the board game Monopoly. The main objective of the event was to promote the subject matter of Economics and teach the participants the skill of managing their assets and making the game of trade.

The esteemed judges for the day, Dr. Meenakshi Sharma (Head and Associate Professor in the Discipline of Financial Studies) and Dr. Anima Vaish (Add. Head & Associate Professor, Department of Economics) were presented with the memento by the president and vice-president of The IIS Economics Society.

All the participants were first briefed about the rules of the game and the judgement criteria before the commencement of the first round. There were 7 teams participating from various institutions and each team consisted of four participants Each team tried their level best to win the game.

Econopoly's first round began with 3 teams participating, with one player from each team acting as a token. Each team was supposed to perform certain tasks such as Quizzes, Riddles, Challenges etc. related to economics and current affairs. Certain fun tasks such as hook step challenge, dart game, break the tower etc. broke the monotony of the game. The game tested the ability of the participants in buying, selling and trading properties. At the end, the team with the maximum value of assets would be declared as the winner.

The first round proved to be amazing which raised the expectations of the remaining participants even more. The second round began with the participation of the remaining teams. It also ended on a very high note and joy was visible on the faces of the students. The round was followed by a little break before the declaration of the winners. 

The entertaining event came to an end with the announcement of the much-awaited results! And the first, second and third positions were backed by IIS UNIVERSITY, JECRC and IIS UNIVERSITY respectively and the distribution of awards and certificates by Vice Chancellor Sir of IISU. Sir congratulated the winners on their victory. The remaining participants were also provided with participation certificates to keep up their enthusiasm.
