A Guest Lecture on ‘Seven Step Strategy to Success’ was organized by The Department of Economics, The IIS University, on 2nd November, 2017 at the Aditya Hall. Dr. Satish Batra, Deputy Director, Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan and Retired Professor, University of Rajasthan, presided over as the Guest Speaker. He was welcomed with floral greetings by Prof. C.R. Bishnoi, Head of the Department. Dr. Batra began the lecture by addressing all the students and faculty members.
He expressed his valuable thoughts by presenting a motivational video based on the theme, ‘A Journey of Introspection and Rejuvenation’. Then, he started to explain the first step, ‘Dream, Think and Act. His vision was to motivate the students to think of their dreams in right direction. He cited many examples of famous entities like Swami Vivekananda, Pt. Jawaharlal Lal Nehru, Martin Luther King, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and Sachin Tendulkar. The second step involves ‘Strong Willpower’ which pre-requisites determination, deliberation, discipline and devotion. Knowledge along with hard work and positive attitude will develop faith within. Our comprehension is to look within ourselves the enemies of mind namely Obstructive Thinking, Abortive Thinking and Subversive Thinking. The third step takes into account ‘Action Planning par excellence’. It requires looking into insight learn about it and good listening skills. A good decision making inculpate Intuition, Timeliness and Resoluteness. ‘Organizer of High Order’ stands fourth step which expects an individual to be well organized. As rightly said, ‘Time and Tide waits for none’, is the fifth step of success. Time is Invisible, Irreversible, Irretrievable and Irreplaceable. The sixth step essentially explains the importance of being an effective communication and emphatic listener. It can help us to better understand a person or a certain situation , build trust, respect people around us and to create environment where creative ideas, problem solving, affection and care exist. And the rearmost step is of building positive relationship through social network is the most effective way. The Guest Speaker summarized the life in an admirable manner.
The lecture concluded with a formal vote of thanks to the Speaker. The lecture proved to be an enriching experience for the students.
