The IISU Economics Society of IIS (Deemed to be University) organized an insightful and interactive session titled “Career Opportunities in Economics,” featuring Ms. Anuja Mathur and Ms. Arushi Srivastava, both accomplished alumni of IIS (Deemed to be University). Ms. Anuja Mathur, who joined the session online, completed her M.Sc. in Economics (2018-2020) with a specialization in International Trade from Symbiosis School of Economics, Symbiosis International University, Pune. Meanwhile, Ms. Arushi Srivastava pursued an MBA in Marketing Communications from KJ Somaiya, Mumbai. The session began with Ms. Avani Sharma, President of The IISU Economics Society, warmly welcoming the guests and presenting them with tokens of appreciation. Held on 28th September 2024 in the A.V. Hall, the event saw more than 20 students in attendance.
During the session, Ms. Anuja Mathur and Ms. Arushi Srivastava shared valuable insights from their journeys into the corporate world. They provided detailed information about various job opportunities, strategies to target them, and practical advice on how to successfully enter the corporate sector. This session proved to be a fantastic opportunity for students aspiring to build careers in economics and business administration. The interactive nature of the event allowed students to freely ask questions, broadening their understanding of the professional landscape.
Ms. Arushi Srivastava also shared a personal anecdote about how she landed a job at Jio through LinkedIn, emphasizing how life is full of opportunities and how a single chance can transform one’s life. She candidly reflected on the challenges she faced during the initial phase of her career, offering practical lessons from her own experiences.
The IISU Economics Society worked diligently to ensure the event ran smoothly. From arranging the venue to promoting the session and managing registrations, every team member played a crucial role in the success of the event. Their collective effort was instrumental in creating a seamless experience for both the speakers and the audience.
In conclusion, the alumnae interaction session, organized by the Economics Society of IISU (Deemed to be University), was a resounding success. Not only did the event provide students with valuable insights into the corporate world, but it also inspired them to remain steadfast in the face of challenges.
