A visit to Security Exchange Board Of India

The students of Economics Honours (Sem IV and VI) visited SEBI’s

regional branch located in  Jaipur near Ambedkar Circle on 26th

February 2015 for an interactive session organised by the college

from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m with two faculty members of the department.  

(Dr. Anima Vaish and Ms.  Vaishali Gupta). Mr. Rajesh Kumar,

Executive Manager , SEBI regional office, enlightened the students

about the history, programmes and policies , objectives , structural

organisation  and the functions performed by this remarkable

institution .The students were provided with the resource material

‘LESSON  ON FINANCIAL PLANNING FOR YOUNG INVESTORS’, which

further helped them in detail study of the organisation. The speaker

also threw light on the working procedure of the institution in the

present scenario and the improvements made in the last few years in

its functioning.  Mr. Rajiv also provided the students with the details

about the promising career options for them in future and the

procedure for applying.  The students were given a chance to clarify

their doubts and concepts related to investment and security

market, by raising questions for which they were provided with

precise and informative answers. The students were active listeners

as well as they were able to grasp the information provided to them

during the session which in a way complemented their classroom

teachings. They enjoyed the visit and are really looking forward for

another.
